Dream Home Purchase for Couple with Complex Income Stream Case Study

The scenario
A couple who had been living and working in Dubai for over ten years now planned to return to the UK within the next 3 years to raise their young family near relatives. They’d identified several “ideal” homes all in and around St Albans, Hertfordshire. All the properties were within the vicinity of all the transport links they needed to get in and out of London, whilst enjoying plenty of countryside around them and good schools. Both were salaried employees with the man working for the Government within their legal team whilst his wife worked as a Maths teacher for a school.

The wife would come home first and had already secured a Head of Department role at a Comprehensive school 20 minutes from their new home. Her husband was also in the process of finalising a new position with a Large London law firm who worked with the UAE Embassy in London.
