SHARIAH WILLS IN THE UAE

If you pass away in the UAE, Sharia Law applies unless you have a valid will in place. Men and women are treated differently under Shariah Law.

If the wife dies, all her assets revert to her husband.

If the husband dies, then it’s an entirely different situation.

Any bank accounts held in the individual’s name, including joint accounts, would be frozen upon their death.

Vehicles registered under the individual’s name are likely to be impounded until the courts determine the distribution of assets.
